About Us

Fulwa literally means flower and is the first name of Bangalore-based Ms.Fulwa Nahar. The five petals in the logo represent her five children and the five basic ingredients.

Sharing food as a way of showing love is ingrained in Rajasthani culture. The kitchen in our home has always been a busy place, putting together goodies for friends and family, prepared with traditional, heirloom Rajasthani recipes. Every jar or bag that was sent out contained in it a burst of flavours and the blooming melody of mother’s love .

There are two things that form the core of the brand curated by the matriarch of our family, Fulwa Nahar. Food and family have been the central pillars of her life, as you will also see in our logo. It is not just the five primary ingredients of her heirloom recipes- turmeric, chili powder, jeera powder, curry patta powder and mustard seeds, but also her five children who bring in so much flavour to her life.
Fulwa started this home business as a means to turn her passion for food into a powerful mission. She carefully planned her model to allow better employment opportunities for women. And, from every sale that she made, a portion was reserved to support the education of girls at Shree Guru Raghavendra School - www.sgrv.org, Doddaballapur.

At 70, with these driving forces behind her, she has truly made her life an extraordinary one. For her dedication to her mission, she has been presented with several awards. One of the most memorable ones was her felicitation at the House of Commons, UK in the presence of dignitaries like Lord Swraj Paul.

For our family, her entrepreneurship and social impact are the biggest sources of inspiration. Today, the brand Fulwa is a 100% women-driven enterprise. But behind all of this is a loving mother who till date, makes sure that she picks out every ingredient that goes into the jars and boxes that she sends out.

Fulwa is not just a brand, it is the legacy of Fulwa Nahar. And, we look forward to sharing this with all of you.
